About Us

Established January 18, 2013, the Travis Country Neighborhood Garden is a project of the Travis Country Community Services Association in Austin, Texas.

Please email TravisCountryGarden@gmail.com if you have any questions, and be sure to “like” the garden on Facebook.

This is an organic garden – only natural, chemical-free organic products are used.  No products containing effluent, sewage by-products, “bio-solids” or composted animal parts are permitted even if they are labeled organic.

Travis Country residents who do not have a garden plot and gardeners on the waiting list may plant, tend and harvest in common beds around the front slab on the inside of the fence, and may plant deer-resistant ornamentals and herbs around the exterior of the fence. Contact TravisCountryGarden@gmail.com if you’d like to work on a common-area bed.

There is currently a waiting list for a plot.  Plots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.  Requests for plots and plot-size upgrade must be made by email to TravisCountryGarden@gmail.com.  If you do not receive a confirmation response, please email again or contact the garden leader.

Garden Plot Fees may change without notice and are non-refundable.  Fees are due at the beginning of the Spring gardening seasons.  Plot fees are:

10 x 10 plots      =        $100 per year

5 x 10 or 4×8 plots =  $50 per year

There is an initial, non-refundable $25 plot cleanup fee for all new gardeners.

Table/tank gardens, vertical gardens, and others – To be determined on a case-by-case basis

The garden layout was designed by Gerald Benard, a long time resident of Travis Country
